A few other things to mention - the m18 model shown here does not have a speed selector which could be a factor for some people. And the m12 has a self tapping screw mode that if you do a lot of sheet metal work could be essential. For me I rather have the m12 because it will do everything I need around the house.

Something to take into account is also what is in the ecosystem. If you are starting fresh, the M12 series may be lacking for your specific job. But if M12 ecosystem has everything you need, the "lack of power" is shadowed by the size of the tool.

I have both m12 and m18., but my m12 percussion drill is my day to day drill.

does anyone else wish another platform like dewalt would make a similarly designed battery as milwaukee’s? it’s so appealing

My m12 drill is my go to day to day. M18 is used mainly for big drilling jobs and auger wood bits.

I have had that m18 compact for about 6 months and it works excellent, it fits into tight spaces so well. It’s very thin and the front end has a taper that makes it work well for driving pocket screws. The compact drill that it’s often paired with is also surprisingly powerful for its size.

I love how compact and powerful the m18 is, battery lasts surprisingly long too.

My vote goes for the m12. It’s light and handy and can ALMOST hang with the m18 heavy hitters. Put simply, the m12 does 90% of what you need on a daily basis. If you need to do the remaining 10% go back to the truck and grab your m18 fuel drill or impact depending on the situation

As a plumber, I use the m12 drill and love it. It may be a bit slower drilling then some 18v options, but it's lighter, the batteries last just as long in my opinion, and it does have more then enough power for everything I do at work. I do use 18v power tools for groundwork as well as my sawzalls, though!

An 18 volt battery is stronger than a 12 volt? MIND BLOWN! 🤯

Aca a Colombia no hay distribución de muchas marcas que vemos en tus vídeos. 😢 Pero los podemos adquirir por plataformas como Ebay y Amazon. Excelente 👍

I'm curious if the m12 would stay cool longer because my boss's compact gets hot in about half the time my non compact, non fuel one does.

The m12 is my go to since I’m mostly only using 1 inch screws and it doesn’t add much weight to my pouch

M12 is almost always a luxury item. M18 platform probably offers the most variety and price points for most people out there. That said, I started with M12 and later upgraded to M18 for the bigger stuff.

I got the m12 impact with 2 batteries and a charger for 120 $ on the Home Depot app. Killer deals on there if you look for em.

Honestly it's all about ecosystem I have both but find myself grabbing the M18 more often mainly because it stands up right

I wonder why they didn't put the quick insert collet on the m18 compact, literally all the other ones have it, and the m18 compact just came out too

I’ve seen the 20v on display at Home Depot with a speed selector but not on the shelves for sale if anyone has any insight it’d be appreciated
