How to cancel the Idle Shutdown on 2024 Volvo

Wait for the “idle shutdown” to show up on the dash.
1. turn on the cruise control
2. press the cruise control resume botton
3. press the gas pedal fast

Please keep in mind in order to save diesel, turn off the cruise control after cancelling the idle shutdown.

After trying it twice on my 2024 Volvo VNL 860, I was about to say the same thing, that it does not work.
But as stated in the video it’s tricky.

With that last step, don’t just tap the gas pedal or easily or gradually press it down. This just reset the idle countdown.

But Press the gas pedal down hard holding it to the floor as he stated.

You’ll know it was done correctly when “Idle shutdown cancelled” pops up.

When the warning comes up just tap the brake pedal. It will keep idling until you start engine again.
