It's so stupid that they have an auto shutdown feature to save fuel but the only way to disable it is to double the RPM and burn more fuel

This don't work in my 2023 freightliner but I found different way.
1 start engine.
2 step on brake.
3 push brake button (truck) keep trailers brake on.
4 if no attached to trailer you have to shock tires.
This way you trick truck into driving but is park.
Some times I have to try more than one time, then I wait for the alarm of set bakes and I punch yellow b out and in and works.

I’ve heard it’s better to idle at a higher rpm for higher oil pressure and that low idling with low oil pressure can cause premature failure over time, can anyone verify this. Is it worth it to high idle and waste more fuel or should you just raise to rpm a little to keep it running in the idle adjust mode.

doesn't work in my truck, I use the old trick, put the extinguisher on the speed pedal and you have it!

Actually, just one click of the up arrow is enough to increase the idle so it won't shut down. No sense in max idle it just wastes fuel especially if you are waiting around. If you have an APU, use it for cooling or heating rather than idle to save fuel . . .

Well its -40 degree wind chill and it won't keep idling.... Too cold to chance putting the trailer brake on and the tractor off to keep it idling. Optimized idling is a joke, especially when diesel fuel gels up

My APU works but AC won’t kick in no fan carrier comfort pro! 1 fault code on it! Hirshbach said they will change temp parameters on idle shutdown to 55 degrees. Tried it and still shuts down! My shop said takes a half and hour for the computer to enable it! HMMM!
