Actually Kleftiko took its name by the the Greek guerillas during the 1821 revolt against Ottoman Empire. Those guerillas had hideouts in woods or on the mountains and at times when they stole sheep or goats from the enemy to eat they cooked it in concealed very well hidden under the ground man made ovens to hide both the smell and the smoke and the fire’s brightness that could be seen by far away especially when lit onto mountainous areas. Thus this kind of cooking took its name from those ΚΛΕΦΤΕΣ (guerillas).

Most of them from Turkish cuisine. Tzatziki is ''Cacık'' . Dolmades is ''Sarma ''dolma is other type. Greek Kleftiko is greece i can accept Turkish has simillar. Spanakopita is Spanish Pita its from Albania cuisine call as'' Börek or Bürek/Burek'' Mousssaka we turkish also has dont know origin. Souvlaki from middle is call as'' Dürüm'' . Fasolada is Kuru-Fasülye from Turkish again. Lokmades is lokma also from Olive yes mostly Mediterranean cuisine i can accept(Greece)

By the way i dont blame anyone else. we live more than 500 years together. also i have alot friend from Greece i dont have any problem with them)))
