The biggest problem is people modding these and not getting a tune. Then they wonder why they get ringland failures or misfires.

The point that he missed is that kids abuse these cars and when they blow up, they point to the brand, not themselves

From what I know is that as long as you keep it under 400hp and under 22psi you will be fine, only times I have ever had issues on my 97 sti was when I was making more than 400hp

I only recommend getting one if you are doing very light mods and dailying it, or know what your doing and are ready to spend so much money into it that at the end you could get a down payment for a house

Subarus don’t suck to own just the people who own them mostly suck at being car owners. If you want a Subaru buy it new, and it will be the most reliable car besides a Toyota if you treat it right.

Sorry for anyone having troubles with their Subaru. The cars don’t suck to own, the previous owners do. Me on the other hand, took my first gen to 236k miles before I sold it, and my current VA wrx is great. Love this car

Dunno man... I got an 02 JDM Forester XT. Bought at 98k km it now has 250k km. Winter drifting, offroading, pavement launches. It hits redline everyday, and I drive it hard...

All I've had to do to it is brakes, oil, timing belt and a radiator that got a rock chip. I've worn out the axles a couple times... The engine is still beautiful, doesn't burn any oil and pulls hard. She's just got a little rust now, but everything still works.

My second Subaru after a lemon 2.5 impreza... The key to longevity is to get a 2.0 and keep it stock... Stock power, stock clutch, and stock sized rims. Change the oil every 5000-8000 km. Shift properly and drive it lightly while it's still warming up.

Subarus are amazing to own. They suck too mod for people that think they know what they're doing and don't actually.

I own a Subaru honestly it's the best car ive ever owned the awd drive system is amazing for Canadian winters. I keep up with regular maintenance oil change every 5k to 6k miles with a carbon clean ever oil change ive had 0 and i mean 0 issues with it. Its modified to oem+ the next mod is going to be an aos to keep carbon buildup in the intake down

I got an rs blob eye because I was new to Subarus and wanted to get to know the car before I decided if I wanted to buy it a wrx. I like so far. Had it for a year

Subarus dont suck by any means, theyre a real car guy's car, but most car enthusiasts these days dont actually know much about cars, they slap on an ebay turbo and a burble tune theu wonder why thier head gasket commits suicide

Ive been driving my modified and tuned 05 STI over 2 years ago. Only 303 WHP, stock turbo, stock fuel system, full bolt ons. Only issue was my thermostat so far! They are great reliable cars if you know their quirks.

This guy is full of beans. Not everyone wants to turn a Subaru into a hot rod. It's wrong to blast all Subaru models for all years. Read what Consumer Reports says about the Subaru Forester, almost every year. Buy this car, take care of it, you will have no problems, and love it.
