I like how his glasses and necktie straightened up once Jonathan is in the room and his overall mood is improved hahaha

As an Intern in Germany who is actually paid in cafeteria coupons, this one hits a little close to home.

As a current 2nd year family medicine resident, this really hits home. Now excuse me while I go to the hospital for my 24 hour shift simultaneously covering inpatient medicine and inpatient OB

Words fail me. I love the arrival of Jonathon in a swirl of paper and wind! I think FP should have said “No!” To psych denying him Jonathon!

This is so real. My family doc has called me on a Sunday afternoon. He has driven (unasked) to my house to bring me a wax soak he was loaning me for an injured hand. He has been heartbroken when a patient died, and he hugged me when I had a terrible thing happen in my life. The family medicine doctor is part of his or her patients' families. He or she can see them from birth to adulthood. And these docs work their asses off for their patients.

Fortunately, my doc has recently acquired a Jonathan, and she's fantastic!

I hope you don’t tire of making these. They are so well done and hilarious. It’s impressive how you can simultaneously bring these real problems out in the forefront so they can be discussed not only by those in healthcare, but also by those of us who would never have know otherwise.

"And I stayed awake."
The ways the eyes dart around a bit after that one hit too close to home. I know that headspace.

Considered the most versatile of all physician specialties, family medicine provides comprehensive medical care to patients of all genders and all ages. This wide range of diversity is not only limited to patients, but also includes the care they receive and the family physicians who provide it.

I love that Family Medicine’s glasses got fixed when Jonathan came over 😂 Then they changed when he left again haha

As a family med doc, this hits painfully close to home... Sometimes we laugh to keep from crying.

That subtle touch where family medicine's glasses straighten, and his collar and tie are neat when Johnathan shows up. The genuine joy and change of attire when he finally thinks a load is lifted off his shoulders and his life has a chance of coming back into order... and then immediately going back to chaos when the therapist says no. Absolutely love it, you're a master of the craft, .

Ah, Family Medicine, where you get to experience the financial hardship of a Medical Student, the workload of a Resident, and the responsibilities of an Attending at the same time. If you stick with it, you also get the administrative responsibilities of an Executive and the overtime pay of a Janitor.

Family physicians are the absolute best. In my country (Netherlands) they are absolutely vital. They are the gatekeepers of the healthcare system, easily accessible, treat the whole family cradle to grave and are the managers of your overall care. And the numbers don't lie, in the US the ratio of emergency physicians - family physicians is 1:3, in my country it is 1:21. They keep costs and workload down for the entire healthcare system. True heroes!

My GP died recently at 74. He was much loved. One of the most caring human beings on the planet. He would work all day till 5pm then head over to another office and work till 9pm. His patients had his cell phone number. RIP Dr. H. You are greatly missed both as a person and as a doctor. It was an honor to know you.

I could never really wrap my head around how Jonathan is not in fact a different person. Jonathan face is so distinctive.
