A better explanation: Without the straw, there are bubbles, which slows it down. The straw streamlines the air, making the water flow out with less drama.

Basically centrifugal force (whirlpool) way is much faster, because you will empty the bottle much faster if you don't spend time to find and setup a straw to empty it ! 🤷‍♂️
