How to Remove and Install a Ceiling Fan || Hunter Ceiling Fan Installation

Removing and installing a new fan might seem like a daunting task if you have never done one before. But this actually a very easy project that does not require any special tools. In this video, I will explain in detail and breakdown, step by step, the removal of an old fan, adding an electrical box, and installing a new fan. The only thing I didn’t do was use the mounting screws provided. I chose to swap out the phillips head screws because I found them difficult to install since you can’t drill a hole deep enough with the required drill bit size to allow the screw to go in easily and not strip the head. I swapped them out for some star head screws so I could screw them in all the way and not worry about destroying the heads.

Old ceiling fan is Hunter Summer Breeze and the new fan is Hunter Regalia II.

What’s more insulting is when they use the downrod, canopy, and mounting bracket from the old fan with the new fan. There is a shoe store near me which has modern day Hunter fans(the ones sold at Home Depot/Lowes) installed on brass Hunter Original downrods/canopies (this tells me that the store at one point had Originals).

The old fan was a Hunter Summer Breeze I believe. So essentially you replaced a 80s-90s Hunter with a newer Hunter.
