Good evening folks! Notice anything different? In this episode, we’re taking you deeper into our journey to Maine, making it feel like you’re hanging out with us. Hi Hanks. I grew up in that area. Something i think a lot of people don't think about is that, when those roads were built, there was no such thing as cars, huge trucks, and fifth wheels. The roads were made for carriages pulled by horses. Also, there are a lot of amazing state parks and campgrounds outside of the most touristy town in the state. People who live there tend to camp in a beautiful, quiet area and go to a place like Newport for a day trip. Also, after Labor day it calms way down. And it's too bad you didn't tour a couple of the mansions. The town owns most of them, and they are really neat to check out inside. As always, thanks for sharing. Like this format.

I live in Mass. moved here 10 years ago. The people in New England area (including Rhode Island) are very protective of their trees. Around 1900 there were no trees; they had all been cut and used for heat and ship building. Some of the backroads around my area, have paved around trees. People go to town meetings to protest the town from cutting down trees.

I live in RI. That truck stop is the only one on the state and we stop there as we head out in our RV for every trip. It’s small and can be busy but most often it’s not as busy as you saw. The restaurant accross the road is a fantastic place to stop.

Remember New England is very old and historic. Originally horses used to carry travelers hence roads were not required to be wide. Some roads were widened however not all could be widened due to private property.

One good thing about my toy hauler is the generator. Don't use it often but on occasion comes in handy. I always get out and check site and approach. If I see something like that stump or anything I can't see in my mirror I have my wife stand on or next to it. It's a huge help to keep from running over things I'd rather not.

I grew up in Rhode Island, I go back with my 42' Fifth Wheel towed behind a Crew cab - long bed - diesel dually and camp all the time. You just need to go to the right place. The park I stay in has many sites that are plenty big enough.

This is cracking me up! As a New Englander, your perspective on the roads and the "smallness" is cracking me up! So glad you are out this way. Great video!

I lived in Newport for a year - I’ve never seen so many cars with front end damage in my life. They park alongside the streets to the corner - so people pull out blind. My guess is many individuals at the campground are military attending Navy War College in Newport. So many military have campers and often when going to a military schools that are less than a year - they won’t move their entire families to the location but stay in the camper for the duration. Most military bases have campgrounds or campgrounds near them - it’s cheaper than renting an apartment.

Two years ago I took my 34 foot motorhome towing my car into Newport. I kept looking for a place to park the MH and explore in the car. A few bad decisions later I was on a 2 way street that was only one and a half cars wide. I got out of there unscathed but barely. It's a gorgeous place with lots of history. Smart move on your part to plan ahead and park the trailer then explore in the truck. I like this format but don't forget to be your own awesome selves. Safe travels.

Love the video! As a New Englander myself, we consider RI another country! Lol. Nothing is inexpensive in the country that you three are experiencing. MA will open up a bit, as well as ME, NH, and VT. The country is beautiful, the people are kinda short fused, but focus on New England's beauty! So happy that all of you(yes Dexter too) are now experiencing this part of the country! I hope that you will do a video of your overall experiences with all the different parts of the country, The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly! It may help the rest of us as we travel the states and get to experience what you've already been able to do.
All of this is so informative for me, and I'm sure the rest of us.
Safe travels, Hanks. Love you guys!

We parked at that same beach area earlier this summer and completed the entire cliff walk. We came back the next day to go through one of the mansions - it was stunning. As retired military, we were able to get a camp site at the naval yard area which was amazing - only 8 sites, FHU and very spacious. I couldn't imagine driving our fiver through some of those streets like you showed!! I like this type of style for the videos for these areas where there is SO MUCH to do!!

If you wanna see Boston, Stay at Normandy Farms in Foxboro, Mass. There is a shuttle to the train into Boston. Easy in easy out.

If I knew you were driving by, I would have waived! Or at high tide, waved….. I used to sail with my dad. He was a Navy guy, and loved the water forever. First Mate for Captain Dad was an awesome experience.

So, you also asked on IG for feedback on the style. As a couple who lived the full time life for years, we really enjoyed it! Keep it real, keep it fun. And yeah, Carl, like you said, make good decisions. We've followed you two since before you were monetized on YT and always loved ya! Be Well!

I love how you show everything and aren't afraid to give us the truth of what you're seeing. Those roads are crazy tights. Reminds me of Center city Philly.

I like the new style of video, felt like I got to go out with you both and do stuff with you compared to other videos where I wanted to see the area but didn't. Plus, I like hearing the honest take on things. Safe travels and looking forward to your next video 😁
