A lot of people don't know that the Tesla battery has a really generous warranty at 8 years or 120,000 miles whichever comes first. In comparison, cars from Audi, Porsche, Mercedes and BMW are only 4yr 50,000 miles on the powertrain.

Also to get approved for a new battery, your pack has to be under 70% of its original capacity within 8 years or 120, 000 miles.

Fortunately I have a MS 2015 P85D on original battery and I put 250k miles on baby still running strong I save so much on gas bc I still get free supercharging 😊

People shouldn’t worry about the reliability of future cars. They’re gonna make them super reliable so that you only have to buy one car. Why? Because everything will be subscription based. They’ll have things that would just make your life difficult not to subscribe to. Things like self driving. You’ll be able to super commute without actually touching the wheel. When you’re at work, the car will just go back home so one of your other family members can use it. Halfway there it’ll stop to charge itself. All of this will be subscription based. So instead of them having to sell you a car every so many years, they’ll take money from you every month.

I truly believe Germans engineer their cars to break down and have malfunctioning parts with expensive repairs right after their warranty expires😮

Here's a question. On both EVs. How much "Cat Dancing" will be done by both dealerships if you make an appointment for battery replacement when your warranty is still valid but has less than, say, 10 days left. What kinda battery is used in replacement. Have seen stories of refurbished batteries used for replacement. Those batteries lasted less than 2 weeks, and the dealership then wanted a full price for an out of warranty battery replacement.

any battery degradation over 30% within the warranty is a replacement from tesla its 8 years or 120k mile warranty for the battery and electric motors... idk but im past the point in my life and income wise im getting rid of my car before the 8 years or the 120k miles so the battery fault is not a concern for me also you can buy Tesla's additional protection that extends this to 10 years and i think 150k miles i think it may be 3 years 36k or 2 years 30k i forget.

Engine can run forever if u do maitance and u can't maintain battery 😢

Forgot to mention that a transmission for that Porsche will probably be closer to 20k out of pocket. From last I heard, people are paying 9k out of pocket for model 3 batteries

635 to 1200 cells only 2 go bad that effect's charging and range. Just replace the 2 bad cells.

Or just buy a Kia. I've seen them give out 200k, 20 year warranties, whichever comes first.

Plus you'll save tons of money by not being suckered into a mid tier luxury car.

Silly comparison because I can pull an engine in a garage with a $200 cherry picker and $200 worth of hand tools. Not only that but I can go buy a used engine from a scrap yard, or rebuild with engine I have with easily purchasable 3rd party or oem parts. You are not pulling a multi thousand pound battery pack in a garage without thousands in equipment, not only that, but go buy a replacement, oem or 3rd party, you basically can’t.
