This is a helpful video with a warning. Do not use these Sandisk drives. You might be ok if you have an older version 1 drive, but the new version 2 drives have a high failure rate. There are plenty of YouTube videos to back me up on this. I have experienced the pain of this personally. Luckily, I never back up to just one place.

Tip when using this drive are you must turn your phone or iPad off before disconnecting drive, if ssd drive doesn’t appear in files, you must hook it to a computer open file then shut file, then try with iPhone again should appear in files, these work with iPad iPhones but you have to follow these rules and it probably won’t hunt to wait a minute or two before starting to disconnect

Thanks. It worked for me. I used this method to save my photos and videos to an SD card. Warning: turn off low-power mode. Thought it wasn't working and tried half a dozen times before I realized the phone was on low power. Also, can use the export function too.

and you can move "Save to Files' up your export options list (Edit Actions), to reduce the scroll time

You just saved me a tone of headache. I sue my iPhone for video shooting as a B-Roll and was struggling with the transfer of videos as it takes too much time and eats up lots of space on the phone.
