Ingredients

Toor Dal-1/2cup
Water-2cups
Turmeric Powder-1/4 tsp
Onion-1
Chilli Powder-1/2tsp
Ginger-1/2 tsp
Garlic-1/2 tsp
Green chilli- 2
Tomato-1 small
Curry leaves -
Oil / Ghee-1 tbsp
Cumin seeds-2 pinch
Dry red chilli-3
Kasuri methi-1/2 tsp
Hing-pinch
Coriander leaves -
Salt -

Method
Cook washed dal and along with water and salt ..
In a kadai heat oil and add dry red chilli ..
Then splutter cumin seeds and curryleaves .
Now add finely chopped onions,ginger ,garlic ,kasuri methi,green chilli ..
Saute for few minutes .
Then add all powders and saute ..
Now add chopped tomato and close and cook ..
Then into that add cooked dal and mix..
u can add water if u want more gravy ..
Boil well ..
Then check the salt .. finally add chopped coriander leaves and mix ..
So enjoy the tasty and easy Dal fry

നല്ല ജീരകം, ഉലുവയില എന്നിവയുടെ മണവും രുചിയും മുന്നിൽ നിൽക്കുന്നതിനാൽ ഡാൽ fry ക്ക് തനി north indian taste തന്നെ. അടുക്കള മുഴുവൻ ഈ കറിയുടെ മണം തങ്ങി നിൽക്കുന്നു. അതിനർത്ഥം തന്നെ ഇത് real taste ആണെന്ന് തന്നെയാണല്ലോ.. ഒരു restaurant feel ഉണ്ടുട്ടോ കഴിക്കുമ്പോൾ..

Small tip.. While cooking dal add a pinch of kayam and manjal podi.. And add garlic first before adding onions.. It brings out the taste!

Thanks Veena. I make dal fry often and was not getting that authentic taste but this time it came out really superb and we got the real authentic north indian taste. My husband and daughter also has shared good comments. Thanks a lot to you Veena.
