Before clicking this video I thought I was an intj, after watching it I see, I am really an intj.

As an INTP this is really accurate, exept I love debating and proving people that their standpoint is completely illogical and makes zero sense with our reality... Am I a bad person....

INTPs can be less competitive because we're not as interested in external validation. But we are interested in validating our own ideas, so we can actually become quite 'competitive' as it's a great way to dissect ourselves. Some INTPs are just as content to learn there's room to grow though, while others become frustrated they aren't where they themselves want to be.

As an intj I found a difference between myself and my intp friend is the timing of concluding vs. Gathering information. I am usually very open to every information until I make a decision then I will only change my mind if a stronger argument is presented to me. For my Intp friend, He only tend to explore ideas he already has a fundamental affinity to. It's like He judges something as worth pursuing then devotes time to learning as much as he can about it.


It's like Intj makes Judgement to streamline information to what is needful. But the Intp uses information to validate Judgement.

It may be "jerk" thing to say, but maybe many INTPs don't appear competitive because... when it comes to areas we've thought about, we tend to kind of see ourselves as above competition, due to the fact that since we've spent so much time thinking about it and understanding it, we don't need to "compete." It's like one's understanding is self-evident and therefore doesn't need external validation (but that is technically wrong as due to inferior Fe). You can see this in ISTPs to a limited extent as well.
For developed INTPs, it is still not about competition necessarily (due to the relative imbalance of judging function in INTPs vs relative conscious closeness in judging function in INTJs) but more self-satisfaction followed by a desire to help (Fe) others get to that level of understanding. Therefore, it will appear as if the INTP is more competitive when in reality, the INTP is again, just doing his/her own thing to show why his/her way is superior to that of the understanding colloquially accepted to be the norm. At least in this mental state, however, the INTP is actually doing some "good" in the world.

there are some INTPs who aren't competitive and some who focus on hypotheticals, however, there are some pragmatic, professional, utterly competent and competitive INTPs among us as well.

Thank you for breaking this down... you did an awesome job! I wonder if you represented INTJ thinking as well and as in depth as you did with INTP. The examples used for INTJ seem a little surface area. It does seem like you played up INTPs more based on their detached logic and played down the abilities of INTJs because of their subjective approach to thinking from using Ni. (This is an example of that competitive streak you were talking about btw 😂).

Easiest way to tell the difference: Look at their bank statements. Which one has more than $3.74 to their name? You found your INTJ. Which one forgot to pay the $35 overdraft fee on the -.05 balance, so its now -70.05, and that sparked a 2 hour rant about the corrupt financial institutions and how they charge the same overdraft fee for a poor person buying a gallon of milk that they charge the guy who just overdrafted $1000 on a TV, then he continued on about how the central banks aren't even a part of the government and are in fact private companies that keep their books sealed and answer to no-one, so when the private banks almost crashed in 2008 for their shitty loans coming back to bite them in the ass, it was the goverment in tandem with the central bank that bailed those fuckers out while no one in the general populace received any "stimulus", etc. Anyway, there's your INTP.

INTJ: Alright so i just talked to the kid over there, apparently he’s struggling with depression.

INTP: What did you say? (Ti, questioning the information)

INTJ: I said he should try and reach out for therapy, since most people got their depression solved through it, he should be able to as well. (Ni-Te, proposing a solution that’s both logical and hypothetical.)

INTP: What? That’s pretty illogical. (Ti, again.)

INTJ: Uh, no? how? (Fi, gets a bit sensitive)

INTP: You can’t just compare one man to the rest, that’s argument from popularity! (Ti-Si, remembering details from the INTJ’s statement.)

INTJ: Um no, argument from popularity is only applicable when trying to prove whether something is true or not. (Te-Fi, defending their standpoint.)

INTP: You are trying to prove something by saying that therapy would work because it did for others. (Ti-Si, again.)

INTJ: No, i used the majority as an example to show that therapy CAN work for him.

INTP: You’re backing away from your point now. (Si, remembering what the INTJ said earlier.)

INTJ: How?

INTP: You’re pretty closed minded. I’m done. (Ne, getting quite bored and moving on.)

INTJ: I’m not, you’re simply very “nitpicky”. (Fi getting a bit insulted.)

INTP: Insulting now because you can’t argue eh? (Inferior Fe starts becoming aggresive.)

INTJ: What? No! It’s just a matter of an observation. (Te defending the Fi’s standpoint.)

INTP: You are dumb. (Inferior Fe reaches its peak.)

INTJ: Hey man, piss off. (Fi reaches its breaking point.)

INTJ uses inductive reasoning, proposing solutions and outcomes while INTP uses deductive reasoning, which tries to question everything and will try to debunk almost everything before accepting it in their mental framework. The INTJ gets insulted first by telling the INTP to piss off and nitpicky, this is because of Fi.

So I'm an INTJ and the guy around 16:00 pisses me off because he is just debating the definitions of concepts. This is all INTP's do. They don't actually say anything of any use. They just debate definitions. You should put up a video of an INTP glitching out when someone uses a highly connotative term with a definition they don't agree with. They literally can't move on in the conversation and just ignore it.

Im not convinced Musk is INTP.
In this clip for ex. I see no use of logic ... rather its an in depth visualization and strategically applied solutions to problems. I just see Ni-Te in all of his interviews ... Not a ton of conscious logical deliberation though he is very logically consistent ... classical INTJ (also remember you dont see his work process publicly but hes been working on neuralink for years now with neurological experts, etc. so it makes sense the idea is so fleshed out without constant Ti-Ne)
Being fair though Musk is a difficult typing for most people studying mbti, otherwise i agree with most of your typings and definitions!
