What’s easier to untie?
The answer is the Figure 8!
This was originally supposed to be a break test video but the rope stretched too far so we improvised 🤣
The Figure 9 is very similar to the Figure 8 on a Bight, but has an extra twist before you finish it. It is stronger than a figure 8 but is definitely more bulky, and can be harder to tie properly. It is great for climbing, caving and for simply making a loop at the end of your rope.
The Figure 8 on a bight is great for climbing, rescue, and caving because of its high breaking strength 🧗♀️It is one of the strongest knots with a loop, just behind the Figure 9! Keep in mind that it can be difficult to untie after a big load!
