Hurricane Helene floodwaters pound Marshall, North Carolina!
The creator of the video posted this on social media. "The town of Marshall was destroyed yesterday. The town I love is gone. Whole buildings floated away. Businesses floated away. We basically lost everything.
This is by far the worst flood is recorded history. The water went to the second story in the old jail. It hit 27ft on the flood gauge. The water was two feet into the courthouse. I’m safe. I’m alive and surrounded by my community. I’m still in shock. There’s gonna be a long road back.
People are asking what they can do to help and I will need plenty of help. Our whole town will need help. I’m headed back down to Marshall now to go into the old jail again and to start cleaning up. But this is just the beginning. It’s gonna take months and maybe years to come back from this if we can even do it.
