Thank you all so much for all your kind words, prayers and support. We’re beyond grateful to have such a loving and supportive community. 🙌 To anyone out there who’s going through or gone through similar situations, we hope that we can all move forward together knowing that our parent/relative/friend’s memory is living on with us 🥰

As a normal person, seeing normal people overcome hardship is much more inspiring and uplifting than watching others on a nonstop joyride. Thank you for sharing!

Alison, so sorry about the loss of your Mum and Eric’s sad family news. Don’t apologise for telling us. It’s a reminder that both you and Eric have the same trials and tribulations as the rest of us. ❤️ to you both

Firstly, Happy Birthday Alison! 36 is still young, I’m 45, and there are days when I feel 15! Secondly, and I’m sure I’m not the only one here who feels this way, but we aren’t here just for the travel content, we’re totally invested in you both, the good, the bad and the ugly. Please don’t feel like you can’t share the hard things if you need or want to, life isn’t all rainbows and butterflies. I’m sending you both hugs, losing people we love is the hardest part of life, but just remember, you are not alone❤

I appreciate your wanting to keep your private life private. Sometimes, it is good to share.
The loss of one's mother is devastating and it sounds like her journey was horrible.
And then there is the terminal illness. Be gentle with yourself.
I will keep you in my thoughts and send positive energy.

My dad died when I was 38, and I remember not wanting to suck up all the oxygen in the room with negativity, but over time I discovered that when we share, we give others their "you are not alone moment", so my heart absolutely went out to you when I heard your story. I think the most powerful quote about this is probably "you can't have light without a dark to stick it in" don't be afraid to layer in your real lives, especially since your adventures bring so many people - including me - so much joy and amusement.

Dear Allison and Eric, while you have no obligation to share the personal moments in your life, thank you for letting us know so we can offer you whatever support we can no matter how inadequate it is. I’m so sorry Allison. Losing a parent, no matter how sudden or expected, is always an incredibly painful hardship in our lives. Please be gentle with yourself and with any expectations you might have for what you think you should do or how you should be. Grief has no expiration date and will last as long as it lasts. The more you love, the more you grieve. My thoughts and my prayers, genuinely, will be with you. And Eric, I’m so sorry for such a hard diagnosis for a loved one. However long the time, I hope along with the sadness there’s time to make more memories with your family member to hold into the future. Thank you both for keeping it real.

First: We are so sorry to hear about your mother. 😢 Second: Thank you so much for being vulnerable and sharing this with us! It is authentic and meaningful. Many of us can relate to grief and loss (though each situation is unique and personal). I guess you could say that these experiences are part of the “endless adventure” of life. Hugs to you both. ❤

I've said before that one of the many things I love about this channel is your level of authenticity, and this is no exception. I'm sorry that you guys are having to go through that but I'm glad you two have each other for support. I'm a big advocate of mental health and self care. So I'm glad you did take an opportunity to not "put on a smile" just for the sake of filming. Your content is special because of you two and all of the things that make you, you. I'll keep you both and your families in my prayers.

I think it’s great to be reminded that life on YouTube is not always made up of rainbows and puppy dogs… I think at times we often forgets that content creators have lives outside of a 15 minute window that we see every week. Thank you for coming into our home every week and sharing your lives with us and continuing to do what you do to help people like me get away from the chaos of the world and enjoy some good hearted content for a change. Your dedication to your channel has not gone unnoticed by me and I will continue to follow and support the channel for as long as I’m able.

I'm so sorry you guys are going through this. Losing your parents and dealing with illness in the family is so hard, and talking about it here is clearly difficult. Thank you for sharing this part of your lives with us.

It doesn't matter that it was expected... losing a parent is hard no matter the circumstances. So sorry Allison. And Eric, sorry about your family member's diagnosis. I think everyone here realizes you have personal lives too. Don't be afraid to be vulnerable with your audience sometimes. We still love you guys. <3

You guys never need to apologize for being real. It is so brave of you both to share what's been going on. It's always easier to not talk about loss and hardships. I lost my Dad 10 years ago to cancer, and my mother in law 12 years ago. I think about them everyday, but you have to look for their presence in the little things in life. They're always with you ❤️. Big hugs to you both!!

Allison I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your Mom. A wise woman once said, "Grief is the price you pay for love." Hugs. Eric as a two time cancer survivor myself, I wish your family member, strength, faith, persistence, love and a good outcome. Thanks for sharing, you are both very brave. Wishing you a 2023 filled with fun, adventure, love, health and happiness.

So deeply sorry for your bad news and the loss of a mother. I lost my dad this year too. As a "fan" of your channel I am here for anything you do, but mostly because I feel a connection with the two of you. You are real people and nobody expects you both to be FUN all the time. Its ok to share what you want and the not so great days, they too are part of life's endless adventure. Sending you both healing thoughts, and hopes for better days.

Allison, my dad died when I was 38. It was like the foundation of the house of my life crumbled. It was like a different reality. Thank you both so much for taking the risk to tell us. I've been watching your channel for so many years! Now I get to really, really appreciate the courage and the choices you guys have made, and are making. Eric, I laughed when you said you guys gotta figure out what you're gonna do with the rest of your lives! I felt exactly the same when I realized that the older I get, the more often my family members are gonna die. We all right here with you. Seriously. Just keep on going and do the best you can. Hugs and kisses 💗💗💗💗

Sorry for your loss guys! Both my parents had long illnesses, but the knowing didn't make it any easier. Sending a virtual hike from Fife, Scotland!

You are not alone. I just turned 42 (getting older is wild) especially while your parents pass. I too had my mother pass recently and for the first time she was not contacting me for my birthday. I am glad you have someone there to support you during this birthday. Life is not easy and thank you for being real. Please take care of yourselves, you cannot pour from an empty cup! ❤️🙏❤️

Sorry for your loss Alison and Eric.
I lost my Dad a few years back, he passed away quickly, but knowing it is coming sure doesn't make it easier.
Whatever becomes of the channel, and whatever those Adventures look like in the future, you have the support of your followers.
