I remember the very first time I had a palpitation. Scared the hell out of me, I was 13. In gym class. Feels like you lose your breath. I'm 42 now and still get them, sometimes several in a row. I've learned that for me personally, I mostly get them when I'm dehydrated. I'm sure it's different for everyone, but that seems to be my own experience.

I have been suffering from palpitations since I was 12. I am 23 now and everytime I have to go outside I have to think hundred of times whether I should go out or not. I feel my palpitations everywhere and whatever I do even while riding my bike I feel it.

I had this yesterday and had to go to the emergency room after running up three flights of stairs and thought I was about to have a heart attack. But I didn’t eat anything all day, not much water, but I did have alcohol and I am a huge drinker. HUGE drinker!!! Like day drinking everyday. And I’m slightly overweight. Doc said alcohol is what probably caused it and being dehydrated. I’m working on a self-made program to be on a path to quit drinking. I don’t want to die young or be terminally ill and be in and out if the hospital with numerous surgeries and complications. Definitely not worth it.

Well, these are crazy times and do not have tell anyone that since we are all into this together but I have dealing with GERD a good part of this year or silent reflux and that had me wired for sometime. Trust in me, you do not want that in your lungs and throat which I had for awhile. Felt like having chronic bronchitis! So been worried about that and then in the past few months, had 4 family members and friends die which sent my anxiety and depression through the roof! Bad enough having Covid around but now I am getting heart palpitations. I do have have General anxiety disorder so I am thinking all this has to be connected. I had a stress test 2 years ago and I did really good. I would think this has to be stress related but I am so tired of feeling those damn flutters! It is safe to say we are all under a lot of stress. Be safe everyone!

I recovered heart palpitations about 2 weeks without any medical by finding that makes me relax like listening to music ( sad and slow music).. and by not stressing out about things surround me.. hope it helps

I've had heart palpitations in my sleep for years. No amount of medicine works to prevent it. Sleep apnea is not the cause and my doctor determined that it was caused by nocturnal seizures. I have had some fainting experiences while awake but these occur when in bed at sleep. Thus, there is no way to prevent it. It's a miracle I'm still alive after all these decades.
The only way I have of treating them once they start is to do yoga breathing exercises. At times, I do mudras (yoga hand exercises). Again, at times they work, often they don't. Life is cruel - god hates me. So I keep trying.

I believe this just happened to me a few hours ago. I’m not sure, however if anyone can either confirm or lead me in the right direction, below is what happened:

I was in bed watching my gf play game, we were about to call it a night when suddenly I feel a weird pressure on the left side of my chest, more on the left side of my heart area. Once the pressure fades I start feeling dizzy, cold, and like my heart was trying to beat and suddenly it started beating fast as if I was working out. I thought it was weird, but started seeing how I kept feeling, suddenly I had to stand up and walk because it felt as though my body was losing strength. It lasted for a while, so I decided to go to the ER to see what it might have been. Everything was fine there and while discussing with the doctor, they said that since I had caffeine earlier, that that could be the cause of what I was feeling. They let me go and told me I was healthy, but I’ve been needing to concentrate on breathing and suddenly get a feel of my heart stoping and going. I’m not sure if that’s what I feel, but that’s as accurate as I can describe. It does feel like its going away, but I thought it was weird that it lasted for so long.

So there’s times where I’m just laying down and I feel like my heart stops, or this highly intense pressure on my chest and when I get up I can feel my heart pounding ! What’s wrong with me ? I went to the er several times and they did blood work and many things they told me everything was fine
