Today in the senate, Chuck Schumer said he's going to bring up the PACT Act again. This is the bill that would provide for veterans’ health care for those who have been exposed in theater or even in on their bases to toxic chemicals of one form or another and need extra health care because of it. The Republicans voted for this a couple of weeks ago. There had to be a technical fix for it, and no one anticipated that the republicans would vote against it in fact i think there was a lot of veterans who were on the Hill to celebrate that it was going to be passed and the Republicans were mad that Joe Manchin and Chuck Schumer had struck a deal on reconciliation, so they decided to punish the Democrats…

Let's be honest, GOP would've gotten away with it if it wasn't for Jon Stewart naming them specifically as the villains.

Otherwise, if anyone bothered to do a story at all, the story would've been "Senate fails to pass Vets bill."

The WH wouldn't have called them out for fear of alienating "our Republican friends."

The sad part is Democrats won't jump on this and Republicans many being Veterans will jump in line to vote guys like him back in office.

It’s ironic to me all of the major anchors let republicans squirm almost in a coordinated way. Tapper did the same thing, he asked why did you vote against the bill as the final question, let them use the same talking points that are known lies at this point. Then Not push back on the lie and end the interview. That is a really Weird observation I’ve noticed over this veteran bill issue.

What baffles me more is how the media isn’t calling them out on the obvious ridiculousness of suggesting that keeping the funds as discretionary is LESS like a “slush fund” than mandating they be spent for the purpose of the bill. If Congress uses its “discretion” to NOT use some or all of that $400B, then it’ll just go into the general fund or some other appropriation that will likely result in funding pork projects or socialism for the rich. So confused as to why we’re not talking about this more…🤦🏾‍♂️
