“Understanding Native American Heritage” presented by NBCU Academy explains the history behind this cultural observance in November.

This type of commentary is incredibly important. Still the Indigenous People of this nation are struggling for equality, and civil rights. The American government still attempts to marginalize, and break the will of these humans. In 1970 the government sterilized full blood Native women through lies, and threat of losing medical care. Americans must recognize what the Indigenous Nations have been subjected to through out their contact with foreigners. To fully understand ( if you are concerned for the welfare of other humans ) read the book written by David E. Stannard, American Holocaust-The Conquest of the New World. You will find the meaning of Genocide.
