"Depression, you are welcome in my home but you're going to abide by my rules." That's powerful ❤

My grandmother was so ashamed to be native, she cut and dyed her, she turned to Christianity, taught nothing but white teachings, and never would talk of what tribe she her family came from. The church has hurt me so deeply and I feel so disconnected from a part of myself. Thank you for sharing your wisdom.

As a woman who just graduated from obtaining a degree in Holistic Psychology, this video was a gift from the universe. Hearing, being reminded that all matters are matters of the heart is so awakening. I am truly grateful and will remain present in Sir Vernon Foster's words. Gratitude, always <3

This is so brilliant. I’m a white American and began working with Native ceremonies and teachings about 10 years ago, which took me far beyond traditional Western teachings. The lack of these deep wisdom teachings is why our world is in the self destructive mess it is. I plan to send this to many people I know, but as Richard Waganese says “ ya-gotta-wanna.” Not everyone wants healing, they are I trenched in victim hood, and not willing to do the often painful work of healing. Thank you for passing on your wise teachings.

I came to listen to this because I feel like my spirit is broken. I'm a natural person living in a cold world made of cement, of carbon copies and of consumerism. It's not me. It hurts. I don't know where to fit in anymore, and both my spirit and my eyes are crying. Not sure how to walk with both feet in both worlds anymore... I feel like humans have forgotten how to be human, but here I am, still human.

Wow. I am part Cherokee Indian. This is the first lecture I’ve heard from a wise Indian person. I am floored. Absolutely floored. The origins of my family line started on shaky grounds with this side of my lineage. It is good, at 50, to finally come home. Thank you, Sir. May you find peace and joy in even the small things.

Love,

The part on depression is so good. I went thru it and I decided after 10 years I had enough. People worse off than me saw the light and it also gave me strength.

Buddhism supports everything you said.
Not accepting change causes discomfort.
Change isn't painful, resentment of change is what's painful.
Once we accept the change there is no pain.

The story about depression and it following your rules was so insightful for me. That really clicked something into place. Such an inspiring story from this man!

The way he described depression that’s how I felt with depression, depression can get dark but I didn’t want depression to take over me any more. I did the inner work, therapy and the support of my family and myself I got through it ❤

This is also what Vietnamese Buddhist Monk Thich Nhat Hanh said. He said to say, "Hello Depression, how are you today?" "Welcome Anger, have a seat."
This is a good reminder.

Hearing you say that we walk in both worlds is so comforting. At this time, I am the only one in my family learning indigenous ways, and exploring self healing. This has miraculously changed me for the better. And you are giving me strength to walk in the world and share what has healed me. Thank you!

This is one of the channels that gave me the courage to start my YouTube channel 8 months ago about self development. Now I have 935 subs and > 800 hours of watch time. I know it’s not comparable with others but I’m still proud I started because I’ve been learning so many lessons that I could haven’t learned without getting started in the 1st place.
