I had something similar happen to me when I was a kid. I had brain surgery when I was 12 and had a metal plate put in. 2 or 3 years later I started getting a very sharp pain on the surface of my temple area, right above the soft part. It kept getting worse and worse, to the point where it constantly hurt and felt like a nail was being pressed against my head. I literally thought it was a screw coming out. At the time I figured what else could it be? I went to the Dr and went in for surgery a few days later. It ended up being the corner of my metal plate curling up. The Doctor was cool, he gave me this really long screw, like 6 inches long, and told me to tell my parents they pulled it out of my head, lol.
Haven't had any issues with it since then.

He doesn't need a surgeon, he needs a mechanic.

I just had 2 screws removed from just above my right ankle after 15 years of them being in my leg. The both started to back out and they were causing some discomfort from my work boot.

Yeap, a certified doctor would have applied threadlocker on screw to keep it tight in there.

I had that for years on a skin graft near my ankle.
Fester up a lot. Puss up got tired of it. One drunk night I dug into it.
Found a surgical staple left in after surgery.I ripped it out, my foot was floppy for awhile. Later on, it healed, no uncle fester any more and no floppy foot. OOHRAH MARINE CORPS.

I had bunion surgery when I was 12.20 YEARS LATER the INTERNAL stitches worked their way out-thru the skin! And because it was my feet, I ended up with a terrible staph infection. It was a nightmare.

I’m always surprised when I have a surgery without complications.

My aunt got into a road accident 2 years ago. She was taken to hospital. She had a wound near her toes, it was stitched up and all with a rod placement. 2 weeks went by but the would wasn't healing, and she felt something poking between the stitches. She teased it and guess what? An Asphalt rock escaped her wound. She went back to hospital, got it all opened and cleaned properly and they removed 12 asphalt rocks. And mind you she's diabetic, simple paper cuts take days for her to heal. She went through all the scans and even got a surgery to make sure there wasn't any infection. Her foot had started turning black and her hallux still can't bear too much pressure.
