For ppl who doesn’t know what trench feet is: Trench foot is a condition you can develop if you stand in a cold, wet environment for an extended period of time. Symptoms of trench foot include numbness, pain, redness and swelling. Trench foot occurs when cold temperatures and moisture combine, causing restricted blood flow to your foot. Treatment includes gentle rewarming of your foot.

This is an actual shoe. It doesn’t get your foot wet.

Trench Foot would be a serious issue with these shoes because they could leak into the shoe, causing your foot to remain wet for an extended period of time.

My grandma had a patient that got “Trench Foot” once. The women always wanted her feet soaked in her foot thing. Nothing but salt and water, at all times. The doctor told us to put bleach in her water, keep her feet clean and dry, no more soaking her feet, and put on this cream he prescribed. After about 6 months, she was pretty much healed up. My grandma took away her foot soaker, and never gave it back. The patient hated it, but my grandma was under strict doctor’s orders. She ran a Nursing Home in her actual home. One side of the house was for the patients. The other side of the house was for her and her family. The kitchen was fair game. As a kid, I often interacted with her patients. Her business was classified as a “Type 2 Nursing Home for the aged”. We called it a “Boarding Home”.
