Interesting video. I was the original founder and developer of RSBot (Speljohan), and for various reasons I left RuneScape cheating behind in 2009, not least of which involved Jagex sending a lawyer to my door to sign a Cease & Desist. Since i was only 19 at the time, and didn't have the resources to risk going to court, I signed it and that was that.

The events described in this video took place after my withdrawal, so it's interesting to see how it all played out, nicely done!

I always thought the idea of RS hiring the best bot programmer was a really cool idea. After all, who could know better how to handle bots than a person who was making them better than anyone else?

Glad I could help piece some of the story together for you. :)

The jacmob smiling in the dark was horrifying lmao. We need another bot nuke on both games

I remember the nuke, it was a ghost town on rs2 after it.

I love how Jagex consistently throws tantrums when players are outspoken about their bullshit. “I’m taking away your mod status cause you said truths I don’t like 😡”

Anti-bot Software: "The bots are gone."
Bots running Ed3: "Am I a joke to you?"

I remember logging in on the first day of free trade, filled with excitement. And there I was, standing at lumbridge castle, with my entire bank (300m+ gp) missing. That day, I learned an important lesson about botting lmao

Damn, this kid had 1M cash before turning 18.

That's nerding to the right direction.

My old account was caught in the bloodbath of Jagex's bot banning agenda. I got slammed for goldfarming, and I've never done any of that. They wouldn't even let me appeal. Just a perm ban.

Seeing other comments about how dead the game looked after the nuke makes me think that jagex wants some of these bots around, to just make the game look alive.

That kiss on the forehead got me speechless.

I bought 20k sharks a few weeks before Bot Nuke Day. I figured there was no way they could drop lower than 220 gp each. I'm still working my way through them all.

I was a moderator on the botting website mentioned in the video.

This video is accurate.

Nice.

It's funny how nobody knows that prior to even starting with cheating software, Jacmob was working with Winten, and a few others at Dodian, a now defunct private server based on the winterlove deob, believe he was there until Winten got a cease and desist and shut down Dodian. Can still remember talking to him in IRC about programming and the java language, which inevitably led me into learning to program myself.
