Air Vice-Marshal Sean Bell says Ukrainian soldiers holding off Russians are exhibiting 'bravery, tenacity and ultimately sacrifice'.

We are in the west see things with one eye and we tend to describe thoses defenders who are fighting on our sides as heroes. But what about other examples? I will give here the example of the siege of Deir ez-Zor Syria which was a large-scale siege imposed by ISIS against the city of Deir ez-Zor held by the Syrian Government Army for more than three years. The besieged Syrian government troops were cut off in a small enclave surrounded by ISIS fighters from all sides. The ISIS siege of the city lasted for more than 3 years and 2 months, after which the Syrian Army launched a successful offensive that fully recaptured the city nine weeks later. The heroic performance of the Syrian government army was never mentioned by Western Media because we see with one eye and the Syrian government is considered by our Western governments as anti-western government.

the azov regiment and Ukraine marines in mariupol are truly inspiring, the bravery and courage of these men is above and beyond, glory to Ukraine glory to the heroes

Is it military bravery to use civilians as human schilds, that is exactly what these soldiers are doing. May God help the innocent 🙏

That is oddly good news for the Ukrainians. Both Hitler and Stalin made the mistake of getting directly involved in battlefield decisions at the tactical level. Hitler lost the war doing it, and Stalin nearly lost the war because of it before he started letting his generals run the battles. In fact, probably over half the deaths of russians in wwll can be directly traced to Stalin's attempts to micromanage the war from Moscow. Putin has even less military experience than either Hitler or Stalin.

I am so much looking forward to be watching the movies that will be made about the Battle of Mariupol in the future. I'm already imagining something like Dunkirk but even better - and with modern equipment and strategy. Would be a great way to honour the brave Ukrainian soldiers that sacrifices their lives for the greater good.

Azov Regiment first arrived in Mariupol on 9th May 2014 they slaughtered 9 Civillians that day in an attempt to intimidated Mariupol resident from voting in a Referendum. Despite Azov terror the overwhelming majority of Mariupol voted to become part of the Donetsk Peoples Republic.
8years on after years of occupation by Azov Mariupol is finally liberated and the remaining Azov members are trapped like Rats in a sewerat the Azovstal Plant.
Its their choice if they live or die. If Azov choose surrender the Donetsk Peoples Republic will guarantee life and provide qualified medical assistance.

Can the defenders in Mariupol be re-supplied with food and ammo? Difficult, at best.

The huge factory complex is a remarkable defensive position, as it's an old cold war site, built to withstand a nuclear war, with deep bunkers and facilities, etc. So a very hard nut to crack.
