I didn't know where to leave this comment because it's about the whole show rather than the individuals so I thought here might be best. I live in the wilds of Ireland with no TV, my dog and a herd of goats, plus various other furry/feathered friends and I love it - but still can't do without my sparkly Strictly fix!

Personally, I think the show has taken on a new lease of life since Bill won in Series 18, which I think is because he just embraced the whole thing with a love of what he was learning and gave a lot of people the confidence to dance just for the sheer joy of it. I think this has been enhanced by the diversity reflected in the last series, as well as this new one, and feel that this is better because the same-sex couples are not necessarily people who are LGBTQ+ relationships off the dance floor. I know it's ultimately a competition (although I would be quite happy if everyone just danced and nobody won or got eliminated) but I think the message that you can dance for the love of it, with whoever you want to, comes through loud and clear.

Of course, that's not to take away from the hard work that everyone is putting in. Another thing I am enjoying about the more recent series is the effort to showcase different styles of choreography and dance in the pros 'big number', like this one, which I think was an area in which the UK show actually did lag behind Dancing with the Stars a bit. I also love the Couples Choice and was delighted to see contemporary, jazz and street styles brought into the mix. I know some people don't like it and I've seen comments elsewhere saying that it's a 'free pass' to the next round for the less accomplished dancers. I disagree - these are demanding and complex dance genres - but, even if this has been the case on a few occasions, I would give three examples as to why the Couples Choice has enriched the show - Faye & Giovanni's Halloween jazz routine, Bill & Oti's street/commercial routine and, of course, Rose & Giovanni's amazing contemporary routine last year.

Anyway, I'm waffling, but just have to say that I'm still utterly smitten with Diane, Giovanni and Karen in choreography terms but I'm loving Nancy's style as well. And as for Carlos - phew, what a way to start your Strictly tenure! I'm also delighted that Graziano has a got a main role this series again. My favourite? Just now I've got a real soft spot for Hamza but I loved Jayde & Karen's tango and Tyler and Diane's jive this week (ditto Will and Nancy last week). And as for Molly and Carlos in that quickstep! I love it all and Johannes is, as always, the fabulous cherry on top of the wonderful cake.
