How To Connect Your Quest 3 To PCVR Wirelessly With Dedicated WiFi (D-Link Airbridge Alternative) - Easy & Convenient Way

10% Off Discount Code: ZGS2BJCL

In this video tutorial, I'll guide you through the process of wirelessly connecting your Meta Quest 2, Quest 3, and Quest Pro headsets to your PC for a seamless PCVR experience, without the need for a Wi-Fi connection. This is especially handy if your PC is located in a different room from your VR setup or if you have poor wifi in your home. I'll share a great alternative to the D-Link Airbridge using Oculus Airlink. This solution uses Puppis S1 by PrismXR, making it a breeze to harness the power of your PC for VR gaming and applications, all while enjoying the freedom of movement that wireless VR offers.

Thanks PrismXR for providing me with the Puppis S1 for free and sponsoring this video.

Sharing what I have learned after using the S1. The issue with using mode 1 (prism mode) is that it only uses the 2.4Ghz band. By using the S1 in hotspot mode you can take advantage of the 5Ghz band and increase the visual quality settings for PCVR games. Simply don't connect other Wi-Fi devices to the S1 hotspot, so that the headset is all that is connected to the S1 (making it the same as using prism mode but with far more bandwidth available). Also, for the best online results, the PC should be connected to your (internet) router with an ethernet cable (not via Wi-Fi). Try to keep the S1 as close to your play area as possible and do not forget to set a password. Lastly, for online use, you will likely have to disable and re-enable Internet Connection Sharing after every reboot of the connected PC (even if you keep the S1 powered with an external adapter via the white USB-A 2.0 connection). Best of luck!

This is amazing, thank you so much for sharing it! The more I use the Quest 3, the more I am loving it, it is just the best VR headset right now for 90% of games.

I might be stupid or blind, but what software you used to stream PCVR? Airlink, Steamlink or Virtual Desktop?
Or is it so that you stream it over the software of the PrismXR? (I was thinking this is only needed for the connection not doing the streaming itself)

Looks great, so my PC does not have to be connected to my router via Ethernet cable?

I'm wondering what pc gaming was like when you were quite far away from the router? My gaming PC is downstairs for example.

Does this work if the computer that is plugged in to is on Wi-Fi and not hardwired? Thanks in advance.

Hi! It's me again. Early testing by the team on this device is actually... not bad. We still recommend a dedicated router, of course, but this is better than AirBridge or a Windows hotpsot. Thanks for the video!

Thanks for the video. I'm getting mine today. Btw instead of dragging the window downstairs you could've recenter your view. 😂

wow this looks awesome! is this still a good option in June 2024? I was just looking at expensive wifi 6 whole-house routers too, but this would be a more cost effective option! Also, have you tried your downstairs test while also playing games, or just browsing? TIA!
