Agreed. I think it was a clever move to change Isaac to a reveal later on as it does recontextualize all of Arthur's behavior up to that point by peeling back another layer of his character. And it makes his grudge towards John rooted in tragedy that makes his sacrifice for his family more impactful.

I love how so much was cut from like main script but instead of tossed out put into idle in game chatter. Its really cool. This game is so far ahead of its time with all sort of minute details and little nods here and there

yes! from arthur's perspective, john has this incredibly precious thing that arthur once had, that arthur would give anything to have never lost, and he (john) isn't seeing it for how precious it is. he may as well walk up to arthur and spit in his face every day. it makes so much sense why, for most of the game, arthur is so incredibly bitter towards john. i truly love the characterisation in this game. phenomenal

The next red dead game needs to be a prequel to 2. We neeed to go even further back and see young john and arthur. You should play as Dutch and Hosea trying to scramble the beginnings of their gang together. You should be able to switch between them at any time like gta 5 and have soecific missions for each. Then at the end of the game you should switch to playing as young john and arthur same way you switch from arthur to john in rdr2 and and john to jack in rdr1.
