I have been teaching ESL for over 26 year in public schools. I started working with VIPKid in December and I will start teaching for EF next week. I plan to build other revenue streams since if I have learned anything during this pandemic it is that I cannot rely on my employers to have my best interest in mind when they make decisions. I've got to look out for myself. It's terrifying to think of retiring early and depending on myself, but I think that may be the best for my health and my future. Thank you for your content and your example. You make me think that I may not crash and burn.

I just love your videos and find them so informative. I started teaching online Cambly Kids in June making the jump from brick and mortar. I fell in love. I recently was hired to GoGo, but honestly so busy on Cambly haven’t really put a lot of effort there. I also started a YouTube channel as an ambassador for Cambly who pays me to make videos. I’m 63 so to make all of these changes had been amazing. I really want to focus on the YouTube channel and then later branch out into either a website or find a service I can sell. My mind is all over and I’m trying to just focus on teacher and the YouTube channel. Your videos are very encouraging. Thank you.

Hi Tim. Just want to mention that teaching is about a level of happiness for some. The big, corporate teaching platforms have made it monotonous for you and others but some of us do not work for them and have a different, unique class every day.

What esl companies would you recommend to someone who just got a tefl certificate? I do not have a college degree. It seems that a lot of companies require a 4 year degree in anything.

Thanks for the video ! I started an online teaching business in October 2020 recently moved to South America . Also work for 2-3 ESL companies while building my business . I created my own website and have my own you tube channel .I use Facebook ads for business, Instagram ads, and Google Ads but I am still struggling to get regular students . I recently subscribed to your Facebook page Going Solo. I do get some booking for free trial lessons but no regular students yet. Any suggestions on how I can improve my student base ? Thanks .
