STARSHIP DELAYED: SpaceX Mega Rocket Launch Postponed

The Starship system is a fully reusable, two‑stage‑to‑orbit super heavy‑lift launch vehicle under development by SpaceX. The system is composed of a booster stage named Super Heavy and a second stage, also called "Starship".

The Federal Aviation Administration’s environmental review of SpaceX’s plan to launch its Starship rocket from South Texas is expected to finish March 28, the agency said Monday.

I've been down there. I spoke to some of the turtles at the beach and they said the rockets were totally cool. They gather on launch day to watch and described it as "totally rad".

Of course I would love to see a launch tomorrow, but in reality I think we're looking at a launch in the summer of 2023 from the cape. Don't believe we're going to get approval from the FAA before an environmental impact study is done. Spacex is going to have to launch from the cape and it will take them at least 8 to 12 months to build a launch tower there and they will have to do testing afterwards. Hope I'm wrong. 😔

Something that is not mentioned much is that the area around Kennedy Space Center on Merritt Island and Cape Canaveral, is also an animal refuge area also, it is quite different to all of the east coast of Florida which is very built up and populated. it being a Rocket Launch facility has been a huge positive for the surrounding environment.

I don't think that this a FAA priority. There's too much B.S. red tape and not enough staff dedicated to working on approval. They have to consider things like "will the noise from a launch make all the turtles deaf or cause some of them to be hair lipped.?"

Seems like it would be relatively easy to crane Starship onto a barge and get it to Florida that way. If I was him, I would also break down and move as much salvageable stage zero and tanks as possible to save money

Just to clarify, the Saturn IV was the biggest successful rocket to launch. The biggest rocket built, was the Russian N1. It was not successful during launching tests and the engines had failures that led to RUD's.

Delay seems fishy! Delay is probably due to SLS problems, trying to keep SpaceX in time line of SLS, just SCREWING WITH SPACEX ALL POLITICAL!!!!
The FAA has had 3 mo. to review 19, 000 comments, how slow do you need to read to need to ask for another month to read these comments. I’m sure all comments were not 100 page documents, my statement was only 6 sentences.

I'll bet Elon is pushing for 4-20 for starship launch. He wanted it for last year so I think he wants to do it this year since things are falling into place now
