What should you expect on your first night with a CPAP? Or how about the first week?

We'll answer some of our most frequently asked questions for beginning users. Our respiratory therapist, Narina, has been in the industry for several years. She gives a few tips and tricks that she's learned from helping hundreds of brand-new CPAP users.

Her expertise is key to Lofta's success and the success of our clients. We know that CPAP can be hard, but our team of RT's and client success team members are here to help guide you step-by-step.

I'm on week 3 and I feel absolutely terrible. I can't fall asleep with it on even with zolpidam. I see it as a torture device. My sleep specialist said I don't even need cpap, but that's the only treatment I was offered

I'm a stomach/side sleeper, will a cpap machine work while laying on my side? What about the at home test? For reference: I sleep on my stomach with one leg down and one leg bent up, and have my fist wrapped in blankets tucked under my chin. I often switch sides throughout the night, but I'll try tonight just staying on the side that faces my bedside table and see if that's possible for me.

A friend suggested nose hair wax remover and said it’s great for airflow. Do you recommend it?

Highly suggest using a quieter room. It’s distracting with all the room noise to focus on what you’re saying. Or use a clip on microphone so it gets your voice but no one else.
