The Atheist Experience is a weekly call-in television show in Austin, Texas geared at a non-atheist audience. The Atheist Experience is produced by the Atheist Community of Austin.

The Atheist Community of Austin is a 501(c)(3) educational non-profit organization based in Austin, Texas. The Atheist Community of Austin is dedicated to promoting atheism, critical thinking, secular humanism, and the separation of religion and government.

We define atheism as the lack of belief in gods. This definition also encompasses what most people call agnosticism.

I don’t know this woman or her husband but at the 12 minute mark I felt a welling of sympathy for that man.

Thank you God for this back pain you gave me. I prayed for you to cure me, but you only made me suffer for about 3 years. I prayed for relief, but you only made it worse. I got another surgery and now the pain is gone. It's because I prayed. Praise the lord!

Did that condescending statement irritate anyone else as much as it irritated me?

"Look at the trees" is such a classic Christian response to a request for evidence of God. The number of people who I've heard have unironically saying this is mind-boggling

To me, she's making up her answers as she goes, because there isn't much reasoning going between her ears.

When people said god was the sun, it was because they did not understand what the sun was. So it worries me when people say god is love.

So god is an emotion, not actually a deity, just a feeling some people have, makes sense.

What so many theists fail to understand is that when we learn language and social rules/beliefs, it wires the neurons in our brains into specific patterns. It's not a simple matter of changing an opinion, but literally creating new neural connections which allow for new thought patterns to establish themselves. And why old fears/insecurities can keep reasserting themselves even after years of deconversion.
