I really thank you for your explanations, I'm slowing rediscovering math after seven years spent by studying Modern Linguistics. Surprisingly, it seems like I forgot almost nothing (and this despite math having been my weakest subject in school!). All I need is seemingly just one good memory refresh.

(5x-14)^1/3 = -4
5x-14 =-64 cube both sides
5x= -50 and so x=-10 answer -10
