The Peace Kaiser: The Innocence of Kaiser Wilhelm II

Kaiser Wilhelm II has always been seen as the boogeyman of the early 20th century, how he was a mentally unstable, war-mongering person who wanted nothing more than to conquer all of Europe and put the continent under the boot of Germany...Or so that is the mainstream thought about him. In this detailed documentary, I will be examining his early years in power, his relationship with the United Kingdom, how he tried to prevent World War I, how he acted during it, and finally ending it with his abdication. You will see for yourself how much Entente propaganda slandered and demonized this monarch, and you will also see the truth about him.

I would also like to state that the vast majority of my research regarding this documentary came from the book "The Innocence of Wilhelm II" by author Christina Croft. While I may have credited the author in the description, I wanted to also bring additional light to the work since I see it as extremely important. In fact, some of the passages and paragraphs in the video are taken directly from her work, word-for-word since she makes an excellent case regarding the Kaiser. I would very highly recommend all of you buy her book since it also goes into detail about many issues I never mentioned, especially regarding his years before becoming Kaiser.

You know, I never thought about it. But the absolute balls of England to say someone is “trying to take over the world” while also chest thumping about being “the empire on which the sun never sets” is really something to be in awe of.

As you briefly mentioned, the Kaiser vacationed in Norway. He was always a great friend to this country. When the city of Ålesund was destroyed in a fire the Kaiser gave 12 000 kr of his own money to help rebuild. There is no doubt he was a good man and while things may not have worked out for him in the end, I have no doubt he recieved his reward in Heaven.

Nationalists in Ireland shared similar sentiment that Kaiser Wilhelm II was not at fault for causing World War 1, but it was of a jealous Europe. People back then knew he wasn't the one at fault despite the efforts of the media and the British Government.

I am glad to have found this video, I knew that Wilhelm and Germany as a whole got unfair blame for World War 1, but I could barely find a great source.

I'm speechless. As a fellow German I can say: This is a video that belongs in every history class. It is unbelievable how much propaganda and straight up lies are told to us Germans about our Kaiser. I wish I could show this video to everyone against whom I have already laboriously and mostly in vain tried to defend his imperial majesty, our great Kaiser Wilhelm II. It is a scandal what the Allies and Germany themselves have done to the Kaisers image. It's funny, the American education system doesn't place much focus on the monarchies' involvement in the great war and yet we blame Wilhelm for unrestricted sub warfare therefore blaming them for the entire war. This has been a fantastic insight and has both challenged my preexisting knowledge while compounding on my recent suspicions on the matter.

You've changed my perspective on Wilhelm II when I've been taught my whole life to revile the Kaiser as the man who caused WW1 (British education system) but you've helped me develop a more balanced view of this man and his place in history.
