Muhammad Man and Prophet by Adil Salahi. It was the text for a Seerah class I took. The instructor used to weep as he lectured on it. Made a lasting impression.

One good english book that I read on Seerah and is filled with references to Seerah Ibn Hisham, is called Prophet of Mercy, by Shaykh Abul Hasan Ali Nadwi.

Anyone wondering who Mansurpuri is.
It's was an eminent Ahlul Hadith scholar from pre-partition India. Qazi Sulayman Mansurpuri. One of the first urdu biographers of the Prophet SAW in the form of book Rehmatullil'aalameen.

I read Ibn Hisham decades ago. This year I was listening to Sirah by Dr. Raghib Sirgani and in one episode I was stunned by a decision the messenger took and a hadeeth he said that made me repeat that episode over and over. Few hours or the day before the messenger met Al-Ansar who accepted Islam, a meeting anyone who read the Sirah knows about, the prophet and Abu Bakr met a tribe from the north of Arabia called Bani Shaiban. Few Muslims know about this meeting because they, unlike Al-Ansar, didn’t accept Islam, but the conversation in that meeting and how it ended blew my mind. Look for a Sirah that narrates that conversation or listen to Al-Sirjani if you know Arabic the episode on the meeting with tribe delegations after the Year of Sorrow.
