Respect Captain. It takes guts to show it all and not edit in your favor. We're all at different levels in the journey with different goals. I hate guitar players tearing down others or having an air of superiority. You're showing it's never too late to try and add to your trick bag. Anyone who acts like they never had a frozen moment where they have no idea what to do next is full of it. Pete had many of them on his way I'm sure. Refreshing vid.

that's the best part about this series of videos. showing the pain and frustration learning how to get out of your comfort zone and expand your vocabulary. Pete's point was right on when he said YouTube guitarists do hundreds of takes to make sure they get it right. But to the the viewer it's as though they are watching a virtuoso. Nay! they practice that shit for weeks or more to play it off as one take. keep up the struggle because in the end you will become a more well rounded player with an arsenal of musical riffs at your disposal. showing mistakes is honest and will connect more with viewers. if people want to watch perfection they can go wack of to his highness Sir Guthrie Govan hitting that AM6m7b5#11/9/13+4/G over a W chord. it's a sight to behold believe you me. But for the everyman learning to build a vocabulary this is great. keep it up.

Seeing Capt learn is much better than seeing chappers shred

Thank you Capt and Pete, that was the best lesson I've had in years. I wish more people were brave enough to show the process of learning, mistakes included!

Kudos to you for putting your practice up on a public forum! In 20+ years of studying music and playing cello professionally, one of the most important things I came to learn about practice is that it shouldn't sound good.

What I mean by that is, we practice things we're bad at in order to become better. If you only just play whatever you're already good at, you'll never improve in the way you want to. Be comfortable with sounding bad at first, and working something up until it sounds good, and then move on to the next thing you want to improve at. Playing and practicing are two very different things, and while I believe every practice session should involve some playing, I don't think that should be your primary focus if you are indeed looking to improve.

This is an excellent series!
Pete legitimately makes me feel bad about my playing skills but then Captain just builds my confidence! Break me down Pete and build me up Captain!
It’s Good cop / Bad cop at it finest...

I like how they are not running the guitars into recording software now, it allows us to get more of the vibe in the room, and also they can talk while playing :)

I cant say enough how much i like these videos. It somehow is about the joy of guitar and not about the gear I can't afford.

Captain- it's great you're so honest. I've been playing for almost 30 years and am about your level and struggle to learn new things. It's easy to get disheartened when I hear people who have been playing for only a few years and they are incredible. So basically it's nice I don't feel alone thanks to your videos. Thank you.

Captain Lee, take it from someone dumb enough to wait till he's nearly 40 to learn to play guitar, you sir rock. I hope one day to be where you are is this thing called music. Keep at it, and keep loving it. If you can do those two things, you will more than master it. Until then, you are my Captain.

Finally I find a lesson that expands my ability, you guys are awesome, I'm actually gaining fretboard knowledge, licks and runs and WHY you do it. Knowing WHY guitar players are doing what they do and what they're thinking is very cool and useful.

Ever consider releasing a comprehensive series of lessons with Pete teaching the basics all the way to the advanced stuff, I know I would certainly pay for such lessons. :)
