This is a surprisingly serious story. Take Two are not telling players what's going to happen to Kerbal Space Program 2. It's in early access, but as no developers.

I think we need a special status in Steam for the games like KSP 2.
In addition to "Early Access" and "Released" statuses lets add "Development Stopped" badge.
It will mean "The game is unfinished, development stopped. What you see is what you get. Buy at your own risk".

It wasnt even clear (from price or promotional material) that this game would be early access at launch. It launched broken with a barebones sandbox, and didnt receive even basic campaign structure until a year after launch. Then, they canceled it and its still for sale! Thanks for covering this!

The biggest, most ridiculous and unlikely idealistic scenario for the game, would be: The IP and game is bought by a company, who also manages to hire all the original developers, and development continues as it should.
That is the absolute best-case scenario for this whole situation.

I can’t update my review on steam for this game either. This has gone from “damn this suck” to “fuck take two” so fast. I can’t believe they put it on the steam sale, knowing it’s not going anywhere. I get that previous early access buyers are SOL, but now it should be considered outright fraud.

take 2 basically prints infinite money with GTAV and 2k sports games but they can't even stomach weathering the difficulties of starting a new project within the company with private division, peak end stage capitalism

Take 2 have not been straight with the player base since at least the original release of GTA5, if not before that.

This is super scummy behavior and not at all okay, but at the same time it really is on us as gamers to not buy early access games unless we are happy buying it for what is already there, or unless we really want to support the devs knowing full well we might not get the game we want. There are way too many examples now of abandoned games or games with insanely slow updates, and Steam itself clearly warns us that the games may or may not change further.

Simply use report button from steam page, especially if it is against consumer protection law in your country.

With enough reports, steam will most likely take it down.
