There are probably a hundred people somewhere in this thread discussing the obvious, but it's only now, after all these years, I've finally made the connection that April's parents are so awkward with Ron and run away because they are Duke Silver's biggest fans and he's standing in their doorway.

Ron Swanson is LITERALLY one of the only guys I know that can call a young woman "good girl" without being creepy

She is calling him "Lester", as a reference to Lester Young, famed tenor saxophonist. Ron is also an incognito saxophonist, and calls himself "Duke Silver". April is the only person who immediately figured out Ron is Duke Silver.
