Kuru Footwear - Chicane Review

This is a review of The Chicane hiking shoe from Kuru Footwear.

I echo Ken's assessment of the Kuru shoe. A chronic sufferer for twelve years, 2+ years in crutches, I can attest to one day in these is the best day in 12 years. For me it comes down to the soft foam strategically placed where the facia connects to the heel bone. My weight is shifted to the rest of my heal via the "cradling" effect and away from my sore spot. Every other shoe and orthotic I had tried was hard in this location which is why I could never get relief. I, or rather my doctors had been focusing on the arch support all this time and here my main problem was in the heal. This shoe, I think, has given me new life.

Kuru shoes are the best pair of shoes I have ever worn. I am on my feet all day at work and at the end of the day I have no foot pain. My husband tried a pair after I raved about them and he's impressed too.

We just contacted the company about the 2nd pair of Kuru shoes for my husband. The first pair of chukkas were amazing and comfortable. My husband wore the shoes out!!!! He wore them everywhere and all the time until the soles separated from the shoe upper.
After wearing out the first pair, we checked periodically to see if they came out with more of the dark Chukkas. After a year of searching, we found one pair in my husband's size in the dark brown. The first pair were tan suede. The second pair was dark brown suede and when they arrived, we were shocked because the suede was dark brown, but it had white or nearly white long fibers poking out of the suede. For six months, I couldn't understand why my husband wasn't wearing his Kuru's since he had loved his first pair so much. Finally, he told me that the seams inside were so sharp that they hurt his feet, the shoes curved in the wrong places and just generally don't conform to his foot.
I wrote to the company and got a response which I don't understand. It says, "ow".
No explanation of other complaints, or thank you for your letter of concern, or we understand and appreciate your feedback. Just, "ow". There was an additional line to "//KURU GURU
Call us Toll-Free 877-211-5878" But it looks more like a signature line. Hard to tell, because of all the code included in the message.

Im a nurse and my feet ache constantly and with PF added to it I just cant cope sometimes. I just ordered a pair and i cant wait for delivery!!!

Thank You! Well done, educational and very sincere. I'm in the early recovery stages of a Heel Fracture (No Surgery though it was recommended). I'm quite certain that a fair amount of Lifelong Heel Pain will become an issue. From my research, KURU is considered the best of the best. No doubt I will soon make a purchase!

These shoes sound like they've been out for a while now. How do these shoes compare to the newer Adidas "Boost" shoes? I hear those take the title as the new "most comfortable" in the world.

Ken, Try KY Boots. You'll be shocked. Very expensive but by far the best made boots made in the world IMHO.

These shoes are amazing and you don't need to have paid to wear them. They will keep your feet healthy. I have 3 pairs.

Ken...thanks for the video. I have a bone spur on my heel along with PF, would you say it helps to eliminate any heel spur pain? thanks

The ONLY which attracted me the most is their specialty for protecting the Fat Pad, in order not to flatten it out.

Bought these in canada
They are too short I even ordered a 11 I normally take 10.5 . Now for a return not looking forward to this first exchange awful and then Rev canada charged me 68.00 import fee. Not thrilled at all
