Not having a butt joint above the door is a smart move! You may want to try using a rotary cutter (router) for the door opening in your future project. It’s so much faster and easier! 😊 Happy “drywalling”!

Marked the outline of the lining, then cut from the inside of the lining… and the size of the gaps…

Jesus just use a router and guide point bits. These videos make my head hurt. Clearly he's not a professional drywaller

No pro would cut the door opening like that. They would hang the board and use a rotary cutout tool. Way faster.
