Actually, to be sincerely honest in my humble opinion, without being judgmental and of course without offending anyone who thinks differently from my point of view, and without lies to the actual truth, with my clear open mind and clean heart, expressing what ever is embedded inside me for a long time which I didn't say because I was nervous. He probably just used what he had left over instead of buying an extra sheet .. that’s very tappable … I’ve seen and done this when the client won’t buy more or is in a budget. At least he’s crossing a couple studs and bricking the pattern ..

We were always told that the perimeter of every board should be fixed (nailed) so the horizontal joints here should have battens supporting the board edges. When the horizontal joints are supported by timber & fixed with fixings they won't crack if someone leans against the wall!

Knauf plates are never screwed directly to wood. Because of knauf plat cracking, this is the norm. Always first the profiles on the wood, and then the Knauf plates on the profiles...
