In this tutorial I show how to import an fbx character model made with Blender into Unreal engine 4 including textures (diffuse, normal) and animations.

When starting the ue4 scene the idle animation is played for the character because I used the animation asset to play a single looping animation.

Awesome!...I've been looking through your UE4 tutorials. What I like about your tutorials is you have planned them out ahead of time and you are clear and precise with all your explanations. From this video, I was hoping to see what you did on the actual character mesh to make sure it would properly work inside the unreal engine... Do you happen to have a video about that?

Hi what if i import it to substance painter and then bake and texture it, would the model and the animation and the texture remain the same in unreal? Thanks.

Hi Jay, I did a simple blender file with texture and UV Unwrapping, rendered properly. But when I export to FBX and import in UE4, there is no texture included. Can you please explain how to export from Blender to FBX with texture(s) ?

This is not useful if we can't see how the FBX was set up and exported :( I keep getting a normal Mesh but the animations are rotated 90 degrees in X and I can't fix this. Even exporting the default UE4 dummy makes a group rotated at -90 degrees in X in Maya but if I try to recreate this and Import I get an error. :(

import as skeletal and import as mesh checkboxes arent there for me?? and i can't find a skeleton to use
