Dr. Deepak Govil is a Senior consultant in the Department of Surgical Gastroenterology at the Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, New Delhi. He is the member of Indian Association of Endoscopic Gastro Surgeons of India and Association of Surgeons of India. He reigns the complex techniques of robotic prostate surgery and robotic reconstruction. He has also received the Presidents appreciation award at IMA South Delhi annual convention.
In some cases, like the rectal surgeries are performed deep in pelvis which is a major challenge. In such cases robotic surgeries prove advantageous over the open technique.
