Speaking from experience, as a recovering perfectionist, it took me years to truly understand the beauty and power of testing fast and evolving with time. Nonetheless, one of the most common and confusing questions that comes up when I talk about pre-selling is:
“How do you sell something before you actually create it?”
I know it sounds crazy, but it’s actually not as complicated as you’d think. This strategy is time tested and proven in several different industries, including an online course business. Rightfully so, as I’ve painfully made some big mistakes myself doing things out of order, so I hope this saves you the time and headache it cost me in the past.
So, I’m going to dive into what it takes to sell your online course before actually creating it and the 3 steps and strategy behind pre-selling, which looks like:
1. Confidence in Your Offer
2. Cashflow to Fund Your Business
3. Client Results
True story… Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple, understood that efficiency in getting your product or program into the market and getting human beings to test right away is the key to success and implementation. He didn’t wait to get his product out into the market, he tested and evolved his offer. Since then, Apple has released a total of 34 iPhones over the years! 🤯
