A finer detail that separates the hobby/enthusiast from the professional.

Its not only to “look nice” or “makes easier to use” it also provides a much better connection

I was screaming to myself "YOU NEED TO CRIMP THEM"! But then you addressed that and I learned something new. Awesome short. I love ferrules.

I use these on my builds and installs. Time saver and helps secure the hold on the wires

These wire ferrules and a crimp tools were a game changer for my DIY projects!

These ferrules are ofcourse way better than bare wire ... but to be honest, you can recognise quality equipment by the terminal type they use.
I much prefer the "rising clamp" versus the "screw down" version.
Rising clamps don't damage the cable strands by default, even if you put the bare wire in without a ferrule.
Also, tinning/soldering the wire has been suggested, but i would recommend against that since tin/lead is very soft, and tends to "creep" and loosen over time, and this will get worse with temperature variation. (amp or wire heating up and cooling down)

The little things make the difference. Been doing this since day 1, like 20 years+ ago.
This is smart and good work.

Love that you made the caveat about if it doesn’t have the set screw! Always see BS videos where people give “advice”. Yours is actually legit.

I wish I would known about these 10 years ago when I was always swappin different amps and speakers in my truck

Ferrules are really useful. When I was working on wiring the robot for my FRC team (FRC is a large highschool robotics program), I needed to use these often in the Power Distribution Unit and to connect to some things like the Robo Rio (brain of the robot)

The piece of metal that connects an eraser to a pencil is also called a ferrule.

Alot of these Ferrell connections also have crimping tools that create a really good connection

i'm a huge fan of ferrules. We use them at work more often then we dont and it just makes life so much easier.

If you work in electronics, you should know the basics; there's nothing more essential than a proper connection.

You can also use solder to solder all the strands together it’s as good and will be very secure when screwed in 😊

i love these. they work for any kind of wire harness on all kinds of things. i took solid copper wire and made it a neat square. once i started using ferells i refuse to make messy at best connections like i used to
