Your reasons for weighing every day (seeing the accurate trends over time, not getting a potentially inaccurate snapshot on an “off day”, etc…) are exactly why I also believe that’s the best practice for anyone trying to lose weight. Not everyone can mentally deal with daily weigh-ins, but it definitely serves a valuable purpose overall which your graph demonstrated very well. 👍

I think the third point is a great piece of advice for any fitness goal. For example, my primary goal right now is to gain strength, but nagging left shoulder pain is currently is affecting my ability to effectively progressively overload. I've needed to alter my routine a bit to take some of the weight and work volume off the shoulder. The hope is to maintain my strength with different exercise variations/slightly lower weights until it begins to feel better.

Definitely guilty of the third one.
Went from 142kg to 99kg in 4 years, had multiple slip-ups due to dieting fatigue and a drinking habit. Now at 104kg and planning a new cut, will definitely try to stay in your suggested mindset when dieting fatigue kicks in.
Thanks for the amazing content, as always

Daily weigh in PLUS daily waist measurement is the true key, I think. I didn’t see my weight decrease for eight days straight, but my waist measurement went down every single day.

This is exactly what is going on with me right now... although visual view and measurements show change, the scale weight does not. Thanks Mario! That too when I have made walking my main form cardio .

honestly having 2 measurements really helped me keep a level head when 1 of them spiked up. I tracked my weight and waist and from tracking them frequently (weight every morning, waist every half a week) I wouldn't mind if my weight stayed the same or spiked up a bit since the trend of my waist measurement was still sloped down. recently I've been experiencing a little thickness in my trunk, my obliques and abs have been growing a little, so when my waist spiked up a bit the scale told me I hadn't gained weight.

One hack tha works for me...I weigh daily but I only record my lowest in an app. So my app shows a pound or two of loss followed by a straight line for a couple or few days. The increases are demotivating so I only show flat lines or weight drops. It has really helped to frame it this way for me because it only shows progress, albeit slow sometimes.
