Electric Car Vs Petrol Car - this debate has been going on ever since the first EV car was launched in India.

Most people believe that EV Cars are much more cost effective than petrol cars, given the extreme increase in petrol prices. But this is where most people get it wrong.
EV cars are much more expensive than petrol cars, which people are willing to pay thinking that in long run, they will recover this cost easily because the running cost of EV is less than ₹1.
In this video we have logically explained whether or not EVs are actually cost effective given the current prices in India.

I bought Nexon ev at 12.5 lac with subsidy and zero registration charges ..!!

Means only difference of 4.5L rs.

Now my car consumes less electricity too..

Even that is free for me.. as I have installed solar panels..

Hence zero running cost.

Plus 8 years of unconditional guarantee on car by TATA.

Also I always save thousands of rupees on my car service.

Because electric cars don't require much things to replace like engine oil etc at the time of service.

at the end Fuel prices will drastically go up in coming days..

Nexons base varient comes for 9.55 lacs on road. But that is for manual. If you are comparing with an ev atleast compare with petrol base automatic varient, which for nexon is XMA that comes for 11.5 lacs.
Nexon ev base varient is EV prime XM which comes for 15.4 lacs and has better features. On top of this you also get a tax refund of 1.5 lacs which comes around atleast 1 lac or more based on your tax bracket. So effectively your ev cars cost will come up to 14.5 to 14 lacs. Now this is a difference of about 2.5 to 3 lac.
So by your calculation if one saves 6 rs per km. One has to drive for 40k to 50k kms to recover cost . If you drive 600 km per month, roughly 15 to 20 km per day, you will break even in 5 to 6 years . Additionally you don't have mentainance heavy parts like clutch plate, engine, fuel transmission etc, so you will save atleast 30 to 40k per year on maintenance after first year.
I have a lot of respect for indian creators and understand the amount of effort that goes into making such videos but
Please do a little bit of research before making such videos

EVs are not used to decrease the prize but they are here to control the increasing pollution though they are so expensive we should buy it for sake of our next generation

Times have changed... Nexon Fearless DCA is 14.8 lac on road vs Fearless Long Range EV is 16.5 lac.. 1.7 lac will need 25k km only to recover cost

Ev is for the ppl who has usage of 50-100 km per day.. it works out best.. I am using Ev since 4 months.. 1.5lak petrol cost s saved.. plz give clear information to ppl.. yes for 15 km daily usage its useless.. not for who drives daily 50-100 km..

For daily commute you have to buy small ev under 10L which give you less charging time, easy to handle and compact vehicle and a fair range of 200km.
Just go for it.

They look identical, but they're not the same. Look at the power/Torque figures; EV variant has figures of atleast 2 segment higher cars.

Biggest difference in an ICE and EV is the drive quality. No debate here but the ev drive is bliss, compared to a petrol (forget the diesel).
1. Quite and vibration free cabin = luxury
2. Aggressive performance is sheer bliss. Even FIVE of you in the car will be guaranteed push back into their seats if you floor the throttle.
3. One pedal driving with regen braking further reduces effort and adds to the magic.
People who have driven both types can only get this actual and nuanced reasoning.

Not fun fact - For making the batteries of 1 EV it creates more than 8 tons of co2 emissions so it does creates pollution

Dont compare ICE base manual variant with EV mid Variant.

Compare Nexon Petrol Automatic Mid Variant with Nexon EV mid Variant. This is because EV is automatic car.

If one drives 60-100 kms daily, EV may make sense.
