Just turned 50; no debts other than a mortgage for about five years. In 2025, my mortgage will be paid in full. Looking forward to the 100% debt free experience at 51 years of age.

Paying off my mortgage was a huge weight off my chest… and that is priceless (for me.) I bought my house in 2000… on a 15 year loan but paid it off in 2010. Since 2010 we have had had no mortgage and no car payments. You did great… better than most.

You paying it off at 52 is still young and impressive! I will be mortgage free one year, Aug 9. It really has been eye opening paying it off and I’ve been able to invest more into my retirement, growing my accounts a lot. Best decision for me!

only 1 year and 10 months before our mortgage is paid off!! It will be just over 10 years in the house.

my wife and I are in our early 50's. I told her if we move (which is likely sometime in our life), we will not take another mortgage, only cash for the next home(s).

Paid off my mortgage at the end of 2015. Did it in 13 years. $325, 000 at 4 7/8% interest. One of the best decisions I ever made. Not having that payment allowed me to stack a lot of cash that I can live off of, without having to touch my 401k and keep my income low for ACA subsidizes.

I started paying more than double on our mortgage in NYC 😫 8 months ago Oct 2023 at age 41. If my wife and I can keep this up for the next 3 years without any major interruptions, we can have our house paid off in 3 years.
