I am doing a lot better now on my kick serve because of you coach I have a plate in my shoulder and I started using spin serves to help me out!

Kick serve is the most brutal one to master 😓

Notice how the hand is outside of the impact on all 3 serves. If you drew a line from the hitting hand to the contact with the ball, it would look like this angle \. On the kick serve, it is a very steep angle to allow the strings to be moving up. That angle is a big part of hitting a good serve and it requires a continental grip to get that angle.

Flat contact point was the lowest..
Slice, kick serve about the same CP..
I personally think that it's easier to hit flat when the ball toss is lower too 😊

I mean I figured out the tennis serve only after I figured out how to do the badminton smash, the main moving body parts are mostly the same I felt like, just that the tennis racket's handle was a lot thicker so it took alot more gripping force.

Really appreciate this video. I still can't flat serve to save my life so it's gonna be quite a while before I get any practical use from it, but being able to see the serves labeled and slowed really made it easy to pick apart the differences

When I was a lad, a server had to have one foot in contact with the ground behind the service line at the time of contact with the ball. There were many foot faults called...even at Wimbledon. When did the rules change?

Look at the toss and the body recoil to know the difference. Altho it's in the ad court.

I personally have been using the kickserve, thinking it was a slice. 😅

The differences are in how the racquet brushes the ball. For a right-handed server (depending on the server's height): A flat serve has less brush and hits the ball closer to dead center, although there is a slight brush from 3 o'clock to dead center. In a slice, the brush goes from 2 or 3 o'clock to 8 or 9 o'clock. With a kick the ball is brushed from 7 or 8 o'clock to 2 or 3 o'clock. (Really tall servers can go from 9 to 4 o'clock. Just a thought.

Tough thing with flat is it rarely goes in, totally messes with your confidence.
