I get flushed when it’s hot and sunny. It bothers me but not as much as when people tell me “you are red” 🙄 like I know, what is telling me that going to achieve besides annoying me? 🙄🙄

I have rosacea and used the otc lice treatment, Walgreens branded, with 0.5% ivermectin. Half the recommended dose of Soolantra, which is unaffordable. I had ocular rosacea too and by putting this on my eyelids, eyelashes and cheeks, after 2 weeks everything is back to normal. My skin barrier is back! I do some upkeep once or twice weekly. I have tried everything else including other prescriptions. Ivermectin is a lifesaver. For the first time in decades, no more eye drops to mask the redness and my face isn't beet red and bumpy anymore.

I had mild-moderate rosacea for many years. Then one day I developed shingles (H. zoster) affecting an area on the back of my left shoulder. I took acyclovir and had an uncomplicated clinical course. The interesting thing is that my rosacea also disappeared promptly and has never returned. Not only are the skin lesions gone but so is the light sensitivity and burning. My skin feels completely normal and has been so for 5 yrs. now.

Your videos have really helped me to get my rosacea under control! I read that rosacea often has an onset in the 30s and onward, but I have had it nearly my whole life. Sadly, it went untreated for so long that so much damage had been done by the time I got educated about it. That said, now my skin is in the best shape of my life! Here is what I changed:
-Removed fragranced products from skincare routine
-Got prescription for Soolantra. This helped a bit but I already had a preponderance of telangiectasias that couldn’t be solved by this
-Got a few treatments of pulsed dye laser. This removed some of the telangiectasias. I might consider more treatments in the future but I saw the biggest change from the first treatment.
-Started using red light mask

I already use azelaic acid and tretinoin in my skincare routine, but I think I will also add a product with tranexamic acid to see if it makes any further difference. Thanks Dr. Dray!

My skin used to look bright red all the time. These days I get compliments and questions about my complexion! Never did I imagine people would ever think I had good skin lol.

As you say, Azelaic acid serum was a game changer. Cleanser + serum + moisturizer at night. In the morning, just water + mineral sunscreen. After years suffering from ongoing daily flushing, I’ve finally found what works for me. Again as you said, I’m not even willing to try any other routine as I’m afraid it’ll just mess me up again. Definetely not a one size fits all; niacinamide only made it worse for me, for example.

In my experience, resolving gut health issues was the turning point in clearing up my rosacea 😌

My rosacea is so weird. It comes out when I feel any type of stronger emotion. Stress, excitement, happiness, pain, etc. Changing hormones also can cause a flair for me.

Dr. Dray, your response would be heavenly!! I have cystic rosacea acne on my cheeks, forehead and chin. Been struggling for years to find a solution but with no luck. How do i know what the best actives are??

I literally could open up a drugstore with my medicine cabinet based off of all the skincare I’ve bought. Mostly all Cerave, la roche, Differin and panoxyl.

How do I create a routine? Is benzoyl Peroxide best? Cerave SA cleanser? Azelaic acid? Differins adapalene? I’m so so lost and would love some clarity! ❤

That's why I love Paula's Choice products, one of the few brands out there who doesn't use fragrance of any kind, essential oils or alcohol denat. in any of their products

My rosacea cleared up massively when I followed a low FODMAP diet. There's definitely something going on with the digestive system if you suffer from rosacea.

I have found a lot of Korean skin care products are milder and have calmed my skin down. Now I can experiment with different cleansers, serums, and masks without it burning. I still have the broken blood vessels but the burning is gone for the most part which is amazing.

One thing that was a game changer for me to was switching my hand soap from scented to unscented. I don't touch my face much, but I do need to wash my hands a couple times a day. I didn't realize how much the fragrance and essential oils were getting on my face.

Most products that have fragrance and essential oils are very irritating for sensitive skin with Rosacea. My skin care routine is simple - all fragrance free products that I've been using for years, keeps my skin happy 🥰 I use the Neutrogena Ultra creamy fragrance free cleanser, and the Vanicream Moisturizing Lotion and SPF 30. My laundry wash is fragrance free too. I use face cloths to dry my skin after washing - replace with clean ones often. Take care everyone 🌹

I tend to get beet red When I’m angry, embarrassed, exercise, it’s just something that always seems to give away my emotions L O L Thanks Dr. Dray, for some very important info.

Yes, when summer comes around and it heats up my Rosacea "acne" breaks out. At my age I try to spend very little time out in the sun between nine and five o'clock.

For my rosacea type 2, Soolantra has been the solution. I also use fragrance and alcohol free skincare.

My right cheek is bright red, because two months ago I used a micellair water, for one week, which contained perfume....it doesn't sting anymore, but the redness won't go away :(

Yep. Sun exposure and stress are my biggest triggers. Driving with the Coolibar uv mask has been a lifesaver for both my rosacea and sunspots. Also mineral sunscreen every day and I have been liking Peach Slices Redness Relief moisturizer.
