Love this. Went from 300 ft to 200 in one day

I “serve the pizza” for anything under 350 feet: it works much better for getting clean releases on hyzer-flip shots or anything where max power isn’t needed. It increases the chance that all whip movement is in the same plane from elbow and out.

I saw this in a Scott Stokely video first.

the portrait video in clips cuts off the part of the screen with your fingers when you're saying "this part of the finger" 😅

I've thrown several shots 400-500+ without using this tip and I'm willing to try it next time I do some field work; however most of the power in a side arm has almost nothing to do with the wrist motion. If you aren't engaging your hip and core in the shot then you are losing half your potential distance

We send it endzone to endzone in ultimate frisbee, saying you won’t get much distance on that is incorrect

Anyone else think Edward Norton is now doing disc golf? Lol

Thanks so much, I think you've just opened the door to me understanding how to get more forehand distance - much appreciated!

I've also noticed that this helps prevent me from rolling my wrist as much, so I'm more easily able to throw flip ups rather than having to chop with an overstable disc

I use my index finger on the rim wall and my middle finger sits on the lower rim profile a bit like how I used to throw fast balls in baseball. Saw someone use this to get huge distance and I've been using that grip ever since. I still use the two finger grip when throwing putters or midrange forehand. I have a putter ace with the two finger grip and a driver ace with the one finger grip. Experiment, take notes and see what works for you!

To get my nose down, especially when I go for a higher line, I need both. I need a palm-up grip AND I need to follow through palm-down to get a powerful, negative alpha throw. Palm-forward grip gives me weak spin, early releases and a high nose angle. Played one season with that technique and I was constantly struggling with weak forehands that faded early or lifted.

Never played disc golf but I apply these techniques in other areas in my life ;)

I throw a 450ft fh with your 1st power grip, no control for me doing the other 3 you showed. Especially mid/upshot grip.. haha

idk I feel like a lot of throwing is developing your own style that is comfortable to you as an individual. Me personally, I stack my fingers the first way (the way he tells you not to do) and get more power and distance than, "the proper way". Don't forget whether its backhand or forehand the power generates from the legs into the hips then arm speed and snap at the end. just my .02 cheers

2 paths to the same destination. Ive gotten over 400 and can hit 375 consistent with "serving the pizza". You can throw far like that so maybe go with another way to throw forhand. How fast you can snap that wrist matter alot as well.

It depends on your hands. I stated 21 years ago with a 1 finger flick at 420'. You just need to observe different techniques for your best results

Why would you steal his exact lingo. Just put up a link to his video. Lame bro

I used to do what he showed, i switched to the other way and increased from 350 ft to 450 ft. Take everything with a grain of salt, it may work with you and not for me.

I serve the pizza for approach shots, but then again I am one of the few people I know that can side arm a putter, my drive is what you are talking about. At least when Scott Stokely did this video he said, " I'm not saying to stop throwing approach shots this way."
